Sidney Regional Medical Center, a 25-bed critical access hospital located in western Nebraska, provides residents of the greater Cheyenne County area with superior Inpatient Pharmacy Services. Staffed with highly motivated, patient-centered pharmacists, SRMC Inpatient Pharmacy is integrally involved in patient care services throughout SRMC’s patient care areas.

Full-time Pharmacist positions are eligible for a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 3-year employment commitment. SRMC also offers student loan repayment assistance of $15,000 for up to 3 years with a 5-year employment commitment!

Pharmacists are responsible for:

  • Rounding with providers
  • Writing orders, taking verbal orders and making recommendations and interventions
  • Pharmacokinetic dosing
  • Pediatric dosing
  • Patient education and discharge medication counseling
  • Sterile and non-sterile compounding of hazardous and non-hazardous medications
  • Ensuring accuracy and safety of medication prior to dispensing and administration
  • Antimicrobial stewardship functions
  • Supervision and direction of pharmacy technicians, interns, and students
  • Providing nursing education
  • Working with automated distribution cabinets
  • Entering orders for nursing home patients and assisting nursing home staff with medication related questions
  • Nursing home monthly drug regimen reviews
  • Responding to codes and other critical care situations

Pharmacists at SRMC are continuously involved in all aspects of safe medication use through on-going evaluation of medication distribution, dispensing, prescribing, administration, and monitoring. Through the use of clinical skills, pharmacists are highly involved with several clinical departments throughout the facility and are respected and sought out for their expertise, knowledge and teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • Nebraska licensure or eligible for licensure in Nebraska and a degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • PharmD preferred but not required.
  • Hospital experience preferred but not required.
  • Must possess good organizational skills, problem solving, ability to work independently, excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and general knowledge of pharmacy computer systems.
